Family practice

What is family medicine?

A physician with board certification in the field of family medicine is a medical doctor who has completed three years of training after medical school. Typically referred to as “family physicians,” these providers are trained in all major medical areas, allowing them to care for you and your entire family, from newborn care through care for the elderly.

The board certified family medicine physicians at Novant Health Pine Lake Family Physicians are well prepared to take care of you and your family's primary health needs. We provide a full range of services for both children and adults, saving you the cost, time and occasional hassle or confusion of consulting separate physicians. In the spirit of family practice, we emphasize disease prevention, the family as the unit of care, continuity of care and appropriate, cost-effective health promotion.
